MINNEAPOLIS — The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board is asking the public to call 911 if they need park police after a cyber attack took down its phone lines on Tuesday.
An unknown "person or persons" attacked the board's technology systems in the early morning of Nov. 19, according to a release from the organization.
The board's phone lines are still down after the attack, but the board is encouraging the public to visit its website for information on parks and services.
"The MPRB is alerting the public that their technology systems were attacked, they are experiencing a system-wide phone outage, and they are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible," said the statement.
According to the board, there is no indication that the systems it uses for program registration were impacted.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
