MINNEAPOLIS — A man died in the hospital after being stabbed multiple times at a party in Minneapolis, police said.
According to officials, officers responded to a stabbing in a home in the 3400 block of North Penn Avenue around 3:15 Sunday morning. Police found 31-year-old Troy Dean Friend of Minneapolis suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Crews gave Friend first aid before he was taken to North Memorial Hospital, where police said he later died.
An autopsy by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office indicates Friend died of multiple sharp force injuries.
Officials said 911 callers reported hearing screaming during a party at the home, and preliminary evidence shows an altercation at the address escalated into the stabbing.
This incident is still under investigation and on Sunday afternoon Minneapolis police said an arrest had been made.
