GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — Thursday, Nov. 17 is Give to the Max Day, where Minnesotans can help support their favorite nonprofits, organizations, and schools through donations.
The day-long give-a-thon helps thousands of groups statewide raise funds to support their missions heading into the busy holiday season and new year.
If you're able to make a donation this year, here's how you can give to the max:
What groups are participating?
This year, more than 35,000 organizations are participating in Give To the Max Day. If you know where you want to make a donation, search for the organization's name on the GiveMN website.
Looking to make a difference, but not sure where to donate? You can narrow your search by page type (organizations, fundraiser, event team), category (animals, art & culture, sports, health, etc), or location.
You can also see which fundraising groups are BIPOC serving, BIPOC led and LGBTQ+ serving.
And if you want to double your donation, you can see which groups are offering a matching gift.
How can I donate?
GiveMN, the organization behind Give to the Max day, makes it easy to make donations.
When you click on an organization's fundraising page, you'll see a green button that says "Donate." Click on the button and you'll be prompted to select your donation amount and add your credit card information. You can also add multiple group donations to your cart and make one big payment at the end.
What else should I know?
Many groups have been fundraising for months, and early giving started on Nov. 1, so some organizations have already met their donation goals. However, you can continue to donate to those groups.
Throughout the day on Nov. 17, $500 bonus donations, aka Golden Ticket prizes, will be given out at random every 15 minutes. Each gift made during Give to the Max enters you to win money for the causes you support. You can follow GiveMN on Twitter and the hashtag #GTMD22 to see which groups and organizations are awarded the Golden Tickets.
