Home for the holidays: Minnesota's 133rd Airlift Wing back home after 3-month deployment to Africa

Service members were greeted by family members when they touched down at the Minneapolis-Saint Paul Joint Air Reserve Station in Saint Paul.

SAINT PAUL, Minn. — Just in time for the holidays, 125 Minnesota service members are back with their families.

The Minnesota National Guard’s 133rd Airlift Wing is coming home after a three-month deployment to Eastern Africa.

The unit works with C-130 Hercules aircraft that are used to transport passengers and cargo on various missions across the region.

Service members were greeted by family members when they touched down at the Minneapolis-Saint Paul Joint Air Reserve Station in Saint Paul. The 133rd Airlift Wing was flown home on four separate flights.

The first flight arrived on Wednesday, while the next two arrived Thursday afternoon.

The last flight is scheduled to arrive sometime on Friday.
