MINNESOTA, USA — Where do you want to see more electric vehicle fast charging stations? That is what the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) wants to know.

A new survey is launched asking people a number of questions, including if you own or plan to buy an EV, how many miles you drive a day, barriers to owning an EV, and where you think EV fast charging stations should be placed.

The survey comes as MnDOT works to identify priority areas for charging infrastructure across the state. The Federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law gave states funds to install fast charging stations, with Minnesota receiving $68 million from the program. MnDOT said the state plans to invest this money over the next five years.

"Given the previous focus on the Alternative Fuel Corridors, MnDOT’s next step is to identify areas for EV infrastructure investment throughout the state to ensure adequate charging stations for EV drivers," MnDOT said on its website. "To achieve this focus, MnDOT needs your input and will be gathering your feedback."

You can take the survey here. You can also find an interactive map that lets you place where you want to see an EV fast charging station in the state.

In a social media post MnDOT said they have already added 13 new locations for EV fast charging stations along I-94 and I-35 using $7 million from the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Program.
