ARDEN HILLS, Minn. — The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a crash that involved a car, SUV and motorcycle and sent the motorcyclist to the hospital with "life-threatening" injuries.
Shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday, troopers responded to the multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 35-W at County Road 96 in Arden Hills.
The Harley Davidson motorcyclist was traveling southbound in the 35-W HOV lane when traffic in the left lane came to an abrupt stop, according to the state patrol's news release.
Troopers said the driver of the car (Lexus) and the driver of the SUV (Kia) "pulled into the HOV lane in front of the Harley."
The motorcyclist rear-ended the Lexus and side-swiped the Kia.
The motorcyclist, a 63-year-old man from Lino Lakes, was taken "to HCMC with life-threatening injuries," according to the release.
The Lexus and Kia drivers were uninjured.
Troopers said the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet.
