MISSING: MPD asking for help locating missing 70-year-old with dementia

MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis Police are asking for the public's help locating a missing 70-year-old man with dementia.

According to MPD, Otha James Jackson hasn't been seen since he left his downtown apartment around noon on Monday. Officials say he was wearing green pants with a black stripe on the side, a black sweater and brown shoes.

Police describe Jackson as a Black man standing 5-foot-8, and weighing about 170 pounds. Officials say he has brown eyes and is balding. Police say Jackson likes to go "scrapping" and will visit scrap yards on Washington Avenue North and Second Avenue North in Minneapolis.

Anyone with information about Jackson's whereabouts is asked to call 911 or MPD at 612-673-5845. Emails can also be sent to policetips@minneapolismn.gov.
