MINNEAPOLIS — Investigators from the Minneapolis Police Department are investigating after a man was fatally shot in the city Friday morning.
Officers from the department responded to the 2200 block of 5th Ave North for a report of a shooting shortly before 5 a.m., according to a release from the department.
Upon arrival, the officers found a man in his 20s suffering from a gunshot wound, the officers attempted medical care until he was transported to HCMC where he died, according to the statement.
There have been no arrests, but MPD officers collected evidence from the scene. More information about the man who was killed will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.
