NEW BRIGHTON, Minn. — New Brighton Ice Castles is set to start building the annual winter attraction nearly two weeks ahead of schedule.
As temperatures continue to drop in Minnesota, Ice Castles officials says they will be able to start growing the ice, "later this week."
"We are currently laying out the footprint of the castle and getting our water lines and lighting elements in place," a spokesperson with Ice Castles said in a statement to KARE 11. "We anticipate that we will be able to turn water on and start building the Ice Castles experience by the end of the week."
Located in Long Lake Regional Park, the New Brighton Ice Castles features multiple sculptures, slides and tunnels, all made entirely of ice. Ice Castles typically opens in January and closes in early March. Tickets will be available on Nov. 28 on the attraction's website.
