MINNEAPOLIS — Delta Airlines travelers now have another place to kick back and relax before their flights at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
On Wednesday, April 19, Delta opened its third and largest Sky Club at MSP Airport on the upper level of the recently expanded G concourse in Terminal 1.
The 21,000-square-foot lounge has seating for 450 visitors indoors and space for another 110 on the first-of-its-kind all-weather Sky Deck, which houses two open-air spaces and one of the club's bars.
The club's design was inspired by nature and the Land of 10,000 Lakes, and "features a rich color palette evoking summer sunsets at the lake – earth tones like sage greens paired with warm copper and amber hues." According to Delta, the club is also making the eco-conscious move to divert 90% of its waste from landfills through recycling and composting.
Other amenities include kiosks for self-check-in, a full buffet that includes recipes from local chef Justin Sutherland, two bars and soundproof booths.
The grand opening comes just a few months after Delta announced changes to Sky Club access in response to overcrowding in lounges across the country, including the other two Delta clubs at MSP. Those lounges are located at the entrance to the F concourse and in the C concourse, next to gate C12.
Effective this year, fees for individual annual club memberships increased from $545 or 54,500 miles to $695 or 69,500 miles. An executive membership jumped from $845 or 84,500 miles to $1495 or 149,500 miles.
Companion guest fees also increased from $30 to $50, or 3,900 to 5,000 miles.
And those who have memberships in Delta Sky Club won't be able to go to the lounge if they fly basic economy, unless they have an eligible American Express deal.
