New food, drinks and attractions at the MN State Fair this year

Fair organizers have unveiled 33 new food items, 63 new beverage options, and several new vendors.

SAINT PAUL, Minn. — The Minnesota State Fair is all about history and bringing people together, but every year organizers try to introduce new food and attractions to keep people coming back.

Here is a list of the new attractions coming to the great get-together in 2024:

MN State Fair App

The fair has added a new app for smartphones that can be downloaded on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The app can be used to search for food, drinks and attractions. The app also features maps and daily event schedules so fairgoers don’t miss any of the action.

Cats & Dogs The Exhibition

This year’s exhibit at the North End Event Center will feature the beloved family pets. Learn how dogs and cats went from wild animals to domesticated companions.

Minnesota State Fair Foundation's Welcome Wall

Fairgoers who enter through Gate 9 will be greeted by a new welcome wall that is 40-feet long and 8-feet tall. Fans will have the opportunity to purchase a custom-engraved tile for $600 that will be placed into the wall to honor a loved one or to commemorate their love for the fair.

Accessibility & Guest Services Additions

The fair is adding several new features and apps to provide more accessibility for all visitors who come to the fair. The new features include a partnership with the Aira app, which provides visual assistance services for guests who are blind. The fair is also adding the KaiBi Mobile Family Care Center which will provide parents a safe place to nurse and pump milk for infants, and a clean place to change diapers.

Two New Midway Rides

The Kraken and The Defender will give ride-lovers two new opportunities to test their limits at the Midway this year.

Transportation Expansions

There are many free and low-cost options for getting to the fairgrounds. The fair is expanding a few weekend parking lots to be available for parking during every day of the fair. Metro Transit and SouthWest Transit have also expanded their bus services to the fair as well.
