MINNEAPOLIS — Finding community at the gym can promote engagement and keep members returning to work out more often.
That's where BIPOC Pilates comes in.
The upcoming pilates studio aims to promote healthiness and well-being by creating a place where people of color can work out and form a community of gym-goers. Minneapolis' Cultural Wellness Center is partnering with Life Time Academy to train Pilates instructors of color to hold classes at the upcoming studio.
According to Zippia, about 7% of Pilates instructors are Black, and less than 30% of all instructors are BIPOC.
Anthony Taylor and Nia Zekan visited the KARE 11 studio to chat more about BIPOC Pilates.
