Bridging nonprofit seeks blankets for people in need

Volunteers are seeking blankets of all sizes and styles — whether lightly used, handmade or just purchased.

Twin Cities nonprofit Bridging is bundling up for the winter with a blanket donation drive on Dec. 9.

The organization is seeking blankets of all sizes and styles — whether lightly used, handmade or just purchased. Full- and queen-sized blankets are in high demand.

Bridging's mission is to provide household needs for people seeking housing stability. The nonprofit has locations in Roseville and Bloomington.

To donate, drop off blankets from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9 at one of The Original Mattress Factory locations listed below.

  • Eagan - Yankee Square - 1454 Yankee Doodle Rd, Eagan
  • Maplewood - 1261 East State Hwy 36 Service Rd, Maplewood
  • Minnetonka - Ridge Square North - 13009 Ridgedale Dr, Minnetonka
  • Shakopee - 8034 Old Carriage Ct North, Shakopee

The Bridging release says the first 102 cars at each location will receive surprise gifts and may enter a drawing for a mattress.
