FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. — The Minnesota State Fair's oldest food vendor will be serving up one of the newest foods this year.
The Hamline Church Dining Hall has been dishing up baked chicken, Swedish meatballs and their signature dish — Hamloaf — since 1897.
This year they are debuting Swedish 'Sota Sliders, which is a cranberry-wild rice meatball formed into patties, paired with dill Havarti cheese with a red relish of beets, red onions, red peppers, lingonberries, cranberries and served on brioche buns.
Alison Kirwin joined KARE 11 News at Noon to share some sliders and discuss the historic dining operation.
The fair kicks off August 22 and the Hamline Church Dining Hall is located just two blocks from the main entrance at 1667 Dan Patch Ave.
