ST PAUL, Minn. — A meaningful Minnesota nonprofit is celebrating 25 years of supporting families that are thousands of miles away.
Because of local donations, the nonprofit has helped build housing units and the St. John's Kayoro Health Center, which have provided shelter and health facilities in areas with little access. Donations have also supported increased educational opportunities in Uganda.
Peter Carlson, the executive director of Give Us Wings, came to the KARE 11 studio to share more about the organization and the impact of donations.
The organization's Family to Family sponsorship program offers two options to provide health care, education and food for a family. To be a full sponsor, it asks $1,750. For more information on the program, click here.
