Whether you're excited for or dreading Donald Trump's return to the White House, November has been a stressful month.

Between the high-stakes elections and the oncoming gloomy winter weather, it's important to take care of your mental health.

According to the American Psychological Association, about 77% of U.S. adults said the future of the nation was a significant source of stress in their lives. Additionally, 74% of adults were worried that election results could lead to violence and 56% were concerned the 2024 election could be the end of democracy in the U.S.

To help manage these stressors, therapist Maddie Johnson visited KARE 11 News at Noon and shared some advice.

NBC Washington shared some tips from a therapist as well, including to limit your news intake, do hobbies that you enjoy and get regular exercise. If you are a parent or have children in your life, try to create a supportive environment and ask kids open-ended questions so they can bring up any feelings.
