Juxtaposition Arts debuts found object exhibit in north Minneapolis

The gallery centers on young artists and art that showcases the soul of north Minneapolis.

MINNEAPOLIS — Juxtaposition Arts is kicking off the first exhibit in a new building — and they are making sure to center the north Minneapolis community.

The exhibit "Encounters" features sculptures using objects found in the northside area. Juxtaposition Arts is a teen-staffed art and design center and it fosters a new generation of artists, per its website

The event is Thursday, Dec. 7 from 6-8 p.m. at 2007 Emerson Ave. N. Entrance is free and snacks and refreshments are provided. For more information, click here

Featured young artists include Christina Lumppio, Ella Alden Pope, Harmonee Harrison, Henry Adams, Janai Ford, Myles Pohlman and Tano Unpingco. The Juxtaposition team said in a release that the artworks are made almost exclusively from found objects on West Broadway in north Minneapolis.
