LIVIN Foundation supports families affected by suicide

The nonprofit hosts an annual festival to raise money for people struggling with the loss of a loved one.

September is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month and LIVIN Foundation is sharing support for families affected by suicide.

The Twin Cities-based nonprofit aims to prevent suicides and offer resources to loved ones who have been impacted by this tragedy. Some of their resources include a family camp and a financial grant program to cover mental health treatment, funeral expenses and other costs.

LIVIN Foundation's annual fundraising festival is set for Sept. 13-15, and includes live music, camping, family activities and inspirational programs.

Founder Paul Thomas and executive director Kaitlin Daeges visited KARE 11 News at Noon on Tuesday to share more about the festival and nonprofit's work. It is a cause that is highly personal, as both Thomas and Daeges lost their fathers to suicide.
