Mardi Gras parties on in the Twin Cities

Entertainment includes burlesque performances, live music and a costume contest.

SHAKOPEE, Minn. — If you didn't book a flight to New Orleans, a local group is making sure you don't miss Mardi Gras festivities this year. 

The Mayor's Ball and After Party will take place on March 30 from 7 p.m. to midnight. Acclaimed chefs Mateo MacBee and Eric Lucas, of Krewe Restaurant, will be catering cajun food for the event. 

Entertainment includes burlesque performances, live music and a costume contest. 

Michael Batiste and Katie Batiste visited the KARE 11 studios to preview the event, alongside burlesque performers from Emerald Essence.
