GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — September 6 is National Read a Book Day and it's a great opportunity to get kids reading early and often so they are prepared for the classroom.
Reading proficiently by third grade is an indicator of future academic and personal success, but parents can begin introducing reading as early as infancy.
Director of Reading Corps, Maren Kioga, joined KARE 11 News at Noon to discuss Read a Book Day and how people can become tutors at Minnesota schools. Below is additional information for those who are interested.
