The Hub for Nonviolence and Safety is hosting an open house Tuesday, Nov. 14 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

MINNEAPOLIS — On Tuesday afternoon, a community group dedicated to nonviolence is opening a new hub in the Jordon neighborhood of Minneapolis.

Nonviolent Peaceforce is a worldwide organization, but its main headquarters in the U.S. is located in Minneapolis.

The group is opening a new Hub for Nonviolence and Safety to be the headquarters for the Community Peacebuilding Program.

Nonviolent Peaceforce plans to collaborate with other similar groups, including 8218 Truce Center, headquartered in Saint Paul. 8218 True Center plans to expand it work into the Minneapolis community from it's new location at the Hub.

The open house will be on Tuesday, Nov. 14 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. with a short program at 4:00. The Hub for Nonviolence and Safety is located at 2143 Lowry Avenue North. Enter on Lowry Avenue, and the Hub is on the second floor.
