Party for the Parks honors St. Paul volunteers

Party for the Parks kicks off with a performance by Circus Juventas, followed by a plethora of guests, including Mayor Melvin Carter.

ST PAUL, Minn — More than 5,000 volunteers will be celebrated Wednesday as a "thank you" for their service to the Saint Paul parks system.

Saint Paul Parks Conservancy Board Member Kristin Rogers and Andrea de Pitera, Ramsey Hill Association Board member for Parks and Gardens and this year's volunteer honoree, stopped by KARE 11 News at Noon to talk about the fourth annual gathering.

Party for the Parks kicks off with a performance by Circus Juventas, followed by a plethora of guests, including Mayor Melvin Carter.

The event, emceed by KARE 11's own Bobby Jensen, runs from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Como Midway Picnic Pavilion in Saint Paul.

The public is invited to join for free, with the option to purchase a range of food and beverages.
