'Reasons for Moving' tells immigrant stories through performance art

"Reasons for Moving," is an "interdisciplinary and multicultural dance-theater project" that runs Thursdays through Sundays for the remainder of June.

MINNEAPOLIS — Experience the stories of first-, second- and third-generation immigrants through their lens in Minneapolis this month.

"Reasons for Moving," is an "interdisciplinary and multicultural dance-theater project" that runs Thursdays through Sundays for the remainder of June at The Southern Theater.

The show and performers, each of them immigrants themselves, hope to teach audiences about their respective cultures and seek to spark conversations about how our origins inform our current identities.

Director Cláudia Tatinge Nascimento and performer Mai Moua Thao — born in a refugee camp in Thailand — stopped by KARE 11 News at Noon Tuesday to talk to Alexis about what audiences can expect to learn about immigrants throughout generations.
