Taking care of your child's physical health can be as easy as taking them to the doctor's office. But for mental health, there are often more steps involved.
St. David's Center reported that about 20% of children have a diagnosable mental health issue, but only 20% have access to those services.
Located in Minneapolis and Minnetonka, St. David's Center raises money and awareness for childhood mental health. The center offers therapy, autism treatment, home visiting, preschool and disability services.
Every year, the center raises more than $2 million to support young children with mental health needs and family support. Maureen Walsh, the chief advancement and strategy officer, visited KARE 11 News at Noon to share more information.
