Twins players to wait tables for Boys & Girls Clubs fundraiser

Fan favorite Royce Lewis will host the dinner.

MINNEAPOLIS — Your favorite baseball players are trading their gloves for plates to fundraise for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities. 

Up-and-coming Twins star Royce Lewis is hosting "The Grand Slam Dinner" on Aug. 25 at 6 p.m. at The Capital Grille in Minneapolis. 

Current and former Twins players will be servers at the event which includes a cocktail reception, silent auction, games and a four-course dinner. Funds raised will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs and the Minnesota Twins Community Fund. 

The Boys & Girls Clubs aim to help young people succeed in school and develop leadership and career skills. The Minnesota Twins Community Fund works to provide resources for children and families. 

Items up for silent auction include autographed collectibles, game ticket packages, batting practice visits and a year of fine dining.
