ST PAUL, Minn. — This time of the year, thousands of Thanksgiving meals are being handed out to families across the Twin Cities.
It's all happening at the Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities in St. Paul on Monday.
Over 250 volunteers are distributing the meals.
The volunteers have already packed 10,000 complete Thanksgiving meals.
The meals contain frozen turkeys, 22,000 pounds of potatoes, canned food and boxed items.
"We have seen the needs in the community rise, and that is heartbreaking during the holidays. I am so encouraged to see the community come together to support their neighbors experiencing hunger and homelessness," said CEO Pam Stegora Axberg in a news release.
