Walk for Healthy Living encourages African-American women to stay active

Organizers encourage women to join the walk to focus on physical and mental health, along with connecting with professional women in the area.

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — Sometimes, mental and physical health can be as simple as taking a walk. 

The Greater Twin Cities Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, is hosting its annual Walk for Healthy Living with that in mind. The group predominantly consists of African-American women in a variety of professional careers in the Twin Cities.  

On Sept. 28, these women will gather at the Mall of America to Walk for Healthy Living. Organizers highlighted the benefits of walking including lower blood pressure, weight management, good cholesterol levels and improved mental health. 

To participate in this event, meet on level one to walk from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. For more information on The Links, Incorporated, click here
