Two injured after car crashes into bus stop in Minneapolis

The conditions of both victims are currently unknown. The driver of the car that struck the bus shelter has been arrested.

MINNEAPOLIS — The Metro Transit Police Department is investigating an incident where two people were hurt after a car crashed into a bus stop in northeast Minneapolis. 

Metro Transit police officers responded to the scene at Central and 27th Avenues shortly after noon. There they found the two victims, who police believe were inside the bus shelter when the car crashed into it. They were transported to Hennepin County Medical Center with "serious but non-life threatening" injuries, according to the department.

The driver of the car has been arrested.
