St. Paul grocery store closes after decades in business

The family shuttered the St. Paul location following the closure of their 107-year-old store in Chaska.

ST PAUL, Minn. — On Thursday, the West 7th neighborhood in St. Paul said goodbye to Cooper’s Foods.

After opening in 1992, the grocery store has become a pillar for the neighborhood. On the store’s last day, long-time shoppers came to give it a final farewell.

The Cooper family also closed their 107-year-old store in Chaska in March after more than a century in business.

The owners posted on the store's Facebook page saying, "On behalf of the generations of the Cooper family and the outstanding staff that we have had, we would like to thank the many wonderful customers that have shopped with the Coopers.”
