Give the gift of airline miles: Make-A-Wish partners with airlines

Three major airlines are fundraising for Make-A-Wish in a way that doesn't ask for a monetary donation.

ST PAUL, Minn. — 'Tis the season for giving! And that can mean giving airline miles to a family through Make-A-Wish.

Three major airlines are fundraising for Make-A-Wish: Delta, United and Sun Country.

Delta and United customers can donate their airline miles to help make wishes come true for children with critical illnesses. Donated miles do not expire. Click this link for more information

Sun Country took a different approach — one that headed straight to the North Pole. A plane full of children and their families were able to fly there last week.

Sarah Aslakson joined her daughter Claire, who is being treated for cystic fibrosis, for this adventure.

"I don't even really have the words to describe how it makes me feel. I'm definitely trying to hold back the tears," Sarah said. "They're happy tears, but you know Claire and all of these kids fight hard every day and they are the strongest, bravest, people, kids I know."

In September, Sun Country employees and partners also competed in an airplane pull that raised more than $80,000 for Make-A-Wish.
