GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — UPDATE: Our appearance schedule is all filled up for 2019.

KARE 11 will host a Toys for Tots tent and showcase local toy drives on the live broadcasts from Dec. 2 - Dec. 16.  This year's KARE 11 Toys for Tots drive is sponsored by Kowalski's Markets and Hiway Federal Credit Union.

Groups that plan to conduct toy drives can request to be part of a KARE 11 broadcast by submitting a Toys for Tots Appearance Request form.

Each year we receive requests from hundreds of generous groups, and we do our best to accommodate as many groups as we can. Unfortunately, due to broadcast time limitations, we aren’t able to schedule every group. If you are confirmed, you will receive a confirmation email with additional information.

Toys for Tots 2019 will officially start on Dec. 2 with drop-off locations throughout the Twin Cities including KARE 11, Kowalski’s Markets, and Hiway Federal Credit Union. The tent at KARE 11 (8811 Olson Memorial Hwy, Golden Valley, MN) will be open and accepting donations Monday, Dec. 2 to Monday, Dec. 16 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

There are other designated drop-off locations throughout the Twin Cities that can be found here.

Last year, Toys for Tots supported more than 150,000 children, and more than 168,000 toys were donated and distributed with the desire to “bring Christmas to America’s needy children." The Marines partner with local agencies to distribute the toys to children that otherwise wouldn’t get a present over the holidays.

In addition to toys, monetary donations (to buy toys) and volunteers are needed to make this campaign a success. Donations can be made via the KARE 11 donation page. Volunteers interested in helping at the Toys for Tots warehouse can submit a request to toysfortotstwincitiesvolunteer@gmail.com.
