MAPLE GROVE, Minn. — One person is dead after being hit by a Jeep Liberty while walking on the interstate around 9:15 Saturday night.
State troopers said a person was walking east in the right-center lane of I-694 near the Hemlock Lane exit in Maple Grove when a passing Jeep Liberty struck them.
According to officials, the driver of the Jeep, a 22-year-old man from New Hope, was not injured.
The pedestrian has been identified as a 39-year-old man from Brooklyn Park. His name has not yet been released.
