Police respond to fatal motorcycle crash in Minneapolis

The crash occurred early Tuesday morning in the area of Hiawatha Avenue and East 26th Street.

MINNEAPOLIS — Traffic is moving again through a busy Minneapolis intersection, hours after emergency personnel responded to a deadly motorcycle crash early Tuesday morning.

The crash happened near Hiawatha Avenue and East 26th Street. Minneapolis police have not said exactly what led to the collision, but KARE 11's Cece Gaines was among the first on the scene and said parts from the motorcycle and the rider's belongings were scattered all over the street.

Officers cordoned off the intersection for cleanup and investigation, blocking traffic on Hiawatha and cutting off all access to Highway 55.

Information on the identity of the rider and the events that unfolded will be released in the next day or so.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
