BRAINERD, Minn. - Authorities say an explosion of fireworks inside three mailboxes started two separate fires in Brainerd, Minn. Sunday.

According to the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office, crews were sent around 11 a.m. Sunday to a grass fire on the 9000 block of 50th Avenue. Authorities determined the fire started after an explosion in a mailbox that police determined to be fireworks. A second fire was reported on the 5000 block of Sweet Road due to a similar incident involving fireworks.

Police say in total, a juvenile suspect allegedly put fireworks inside three mailboxes -- the third located on Norway Drive on the western edge of Baxter. The juvenile suspect was later found and arrested.

Authorities say they're looking for other suspects in this case, and the investigation continues.

The Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with information on other mailbox damage or suspicious activity to contact law enforcement.
