MINNEAPOLIS — A Robbinsdale man who was convicted by a Hennepin County jury for killing his father and sister received a 43-year sentence for the crimes.

Ibn Abdullah, 48, won't be eligible for release from prison until he is 77 years old.

According to the criminal complaint, Abdullah walked into his brother's home in Brooklyn Park in December 2021 and told him he had just killed their father and sister.

Marchone Abdullah, 74, and Crystal M. Abdullah, 55, lived in a separate unit of a duplex in Robbinsdale owned by the defendant. When a family member went there to check, they found the father and sister each shot to death in the head.

A jury convicted Ibn Abdullah of two counts of second-degree murder on January 24.

Judge Michael Burns handed down two 261-month sentences to be served consecutively -- one for each victim -- which totals 43 1/2 years.
