ROCHESTER, Minn. — Late on Friday afternoon, officials in Rochester said they found the body of a woman in a culvert near Broadway Avenue South.

Officials said investigators were searching for a missing woman when they recovered a body approximately 80 yards inside a culvert near a retention pond off of 25th Street Southeast, east of Broadway Avenue South in Rochester.

Next to the body, police said they found items belonging to 34-year-old Alice Dobmeier, who was reported missing on March 6.

The Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner's Officer formally identified the body as Dobmeier's on Saturday afternoon and confirmed there were no signs of trauma.

“This is not the outcome any of us wanted. We extend our sincere condolences to Ms. Dobmeier’s family and friends," Rochester Police Chief Jim Franklin wrote in a post on social media.

Police said there is no known threat to the community.
