ST PAUL, Minn — The Saint Paul Police Department is investigating after a dead body was found along Highway 61 on Saturday morning.
An SPPD officer was traveling northbound on the highway at Point Douglas Rd. when he was flagged down by a group of people along the highway, according to a release from the department.
The group told the officer they had gathered there to mourn a family member who had died in a crash at that location a year ago. They told the officer they found a body in the brush along the roadside.
Saint Paul fire medics were called to the scene and pronounced the man deceased.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
