Man arrested as search continues for missing Dakota County woman

Authorities say a man known to the missing woman from Randolph has been arrested on an unrelated warrant.

RANDOLPH, Minn. — Editors note: this video first aired on July 10, 2024.

A man was arrested on a probation warrant in connection with a missing Dakota County woman as the investigation into the disappearance continues.

The Dakota County Sheriff's Office announced Thursday the man is known to Nicole "Nikki" Anderson, 56, who was last seen on July 6.

Anderson was last seen when she left her Randolph Township home on foot. An extensive search has been done at her property and surrounding area in the days since.

On Wednesday, a search warrant was executed at a residence belonging to the man, but a search of the property did not lead investigators to Anderson.

Officials said the 42-year-old man was not home at the time the search, but did turn himself over to deputies at the scene shortly thereafter. He was questioned about Anderson but authorities noted he is not being held on criminal charges related to her disappearance. He is being released to Le Sueur County, where he had an active felony body-only arrest warrant.

"We continue our exhaustive efforts to locate Ms. Anderson," said Dakota County Sheriff Joe Leko in a press release.

Officials said Anderson left on the morning of July 6 without her phone, wallet, glasses or medication, adding there is “concern for her welfare.”

Anderson’s mother, Dorene Mies, said Anderson left the house to get the mail. The moment was captured on their Ring camera.
