FOSSUM, Minn. — A crash with a semi left a 17-year-old dead Monday in northwestern Minnesota.
The Minnesota State Patrol says a Kenworth Grainhauler semi was driving eastbound on Highway 200 in Norman County around 5:30 p.m. and a Chevy Impala was headed westbound. The two collided near milepost 37 in Fossum Township and the semi caught fire.
Cody Prestergord, a teen from Gary, Minn., was driving the Chevy and died following the crash, according to the state patrol website.
The driver of the semi is a 76-year-old man from Winger, Minn. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Officials indicated that alcohol was not involved for either driver.
