Semi crash leaves a Mankato woman dead

OLMSTED COUNTY, Minn. — A collision between a car and a semi-truck left a woman dead in High Forest Township on Wednesday morning. 

The Minnesota State Patrol reported that a Freightliner M2 was headed north on Olmsted County Road 8 while a Toyota Prius was driving east on Highway 30. The two collided around 8:45 a.m.

Lenora Tahtinen, who drove the Prius, died. She was 83 from Mankato. The semi driver received non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to St. Mary's Hospital, according to officials. 

The Minnesota State Patrol noted that the roads were wet at the time of the crash.
