'Slithery surprise': Boa constrictor found in Minneapolis rideshare

Minneapolis Police shared video of a boa constrictor found in a rideshare vehicle

MINNEAPOLIS — A rideshare driver found an unwanted guest in their vehicle Tuesday.  

Minneapolis Police shared on Facebook that incredibly brave officers helped remove a boa constrictor from the rideshare's backseat. 

Where the boa came from is not clear, with the post saying officers weren't able to contact the owner. The snake was taken by animal control. 

"No snakes, officers, drivers, or passengers were physically harmed," the post read. 

Police shared video of an officer holding the snake, which is native to South and Central America.

Fifth Precinct Officers encountered a slithery surprise when a rideshare driver reported an unwanted guest in his car. Our incredibly brave officers found a boa constrictor in the backseat of the car. The snake was safely removed from the car. Officers were unable to contact the owner of the snake, and it was safely transferred to Animal Control. No snakes, officers, drivers, or passengers were physically harmed.
