Spring snow welcomed by MN businesses

The Buck Hill Race Team has skied most of the season on man-made snow. The kids are excited about some fresh powder this weekend.

BURNSVILLE, Minn. — Mother Nature is reminding Minnesotans she runs the show, which includes a few rounds of snow.

David Ziemer coaches the Buck Hill Race Team. After skiing most of the season on man-made snow, they're excited to see fresh snowfall.

"It could be really busy this weekend which is great for the resort," Ziemer said.

Buck Hill is one of the resorts open this weekend. Other winter ski areas have closed for the season after the challenging weather.

The up-and-down temperatures also impacted sales at hardware stores.

"People probably had two snowfalls this winter that warranted using the snowblowers," Brad Finn, a Frattallone's ACE Hardware Store employee said.

The store had to bring its shovels out from storage for the storm. A picture-perfect way to describe Minnesota springs; snow shovels sitting next to bags of garden soil and seeds.
