ST. CLOUD, Minn. — St. Cloud Police and the Minnesota BCA are investigating after three people were shot a few blocks from St. Cloud State University on Sunday morning.
Just before 4 a.m., police were called to the 700 block of 6th Avenue South in St. Cloud on a report of multiple gunshots fired.
When officers arrived they found a 34-year-old man with critical injuries. Emergency responders tried to save the man but were unsuccessful and he died at the scene.
On Monday, the victim was identified as Antonio Harris Jr., of Buffalo, Minnesota.
Two other men, a 52-year-old and a 34-year-old, were also shot. Police described their wounds as "non-life-threatening," and said they were treated at the St. Cloud Hospital. The have since been released.
Officials said they think an argument at a party was the impetus for the shooting.
Police said they believe that the suspects in this shooting, as well as many witnesses, left the area when officers arrived. No arrests have been announced as of Monday evening.
"I woke up to what sounded like something hitting my window this morning, after that, I looked out and I could hear more gunshots," said a student who lives nearby the scene.
"Most of this block is student-athletes, like our house next door is student-athletes. And like, just everybody wants to be able to feel safe walking to class, going to practice and so I hope people can step up and like say something about this," the student told KARE.
