Officials have identified the victim as 48-year-old Lucas Sanders of Minneapolis, and say murder charges have been filed in the case.

ST PAUL, Minn. — A man who died following a stabbing Valentine's night in St. Paul's North End neighborhood has been identified.

St. Paul police said at a press conference Feb. 15 they were called to an apartment complex on the 1300 block of Western Ave. N around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday. Responding officers found a man suffering from an apparent stab wound, and he was transported to Regions Hospital.

The man died a short while later. On Feb. 21 he was identified as 48-year-old Lucas Sanders of Minneapolis.

An adult female who was in the apartment at the time of the stabbing was subsequently brought in for questioning and later arrested. Police confirm that 48-year-old Josephine Edwards stands charged with murder in the case.

Sanders' family has set up a Go Fund Me account to help with funeral expenses and travel costs for his daughter.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
