WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn. — Officials are investigating after a man was killed in a rollover crash Friday night on the ramp from White Bear Avenue North to westbound Interstate 694 in White Bear Lake.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash occurred just after 9 p.m. when the victim, identified by MSP as 41-year-old Logan Ray Silva, lost control of his Jeep Grand Cherokee and rolled into the ditch next to the on-ramp.
Authorities say Silva was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene. They believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Silva's passenger, a 34-year-old woman, was not injured.
Several other crashes were reported throughout the Twin Cities as roads became slick from freezing rain hitting parts of the metro.
