Stearns County crash leaves one dead

Belgrade woman Cassie Mithaugen died when her vehicle collided with another on Highway 55 in Crow Lake Township. A toddler was injured.

STEARNS COUNTY, Minn. — A crash left one dead and two injured, including a toddler, in Stearns County Monday morning. 

The Minnesota State Patrol reported that a GMC was driving east on Highway 55 in Crow Lake Township and a silver Honda was traveling west. They collided around 6:46 a.m. 

Belgrade woman Cassie Mithaugen died. A 41-year-old Mithaugen was driving the Honda with a 3-year-old girl as passenger. The girl received non-life-threatening injuries and is recovering at Glacial Ridge Hospital.  

A 52-year-old man from Anoka was driving the GMC and received non-life-threatening injuries. 

The State Patrol reported that the roads were wet that morning and alcohol was not involved.
