The Dalai Lama celebrated Losar in Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS - The Dalai Lama made a historic visit to the Twin Cities to celebrate the Tibetan New Year.

His Holiness Sunday presided over the Tibetan New Year ceremony, known as Losar, at Augsburg College. It is the first time since his exile that the Dalai Lama has observed the Losar outside of India.

The sold-out event drew an estimated three thousand Tibetans.

Later Sunday The Dalai Lama heads to a private event at Macalester College, where he will speak on "The Nature of Happiness, Fulfillment and Embodiment".

Saturday His Holiness delivered the keynote address for the Nobel Peace Prize Forum at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
