RICE COUNTY, Minn. — The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado touched down in Rice County on Saturday.

An image of the tornado was posted to the organization's social media. That image was taken just before 5 p.m. southwest of Kenyon, Minnesota.

"The storm associated with this tornado has moved into portions of SE Goodhue County and NE Dodge County. There is no longer a tornado, but large hail up to golf ball-sized is still possible as it moves southeast," said the weather service.

"Storms could redevelop tonight across the northern part of the state and move potentially south in the late evening hours to the metro," according to KARE 11 Meteorologist Jamie Kagol.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
