ST PAUL, Minn. — Metro Transit is reporting a collision involving a Green Line train and a pedestrian in St. Paul on Friday morning.
Spokesman Drew Kerr tells KARE 11 that Metro Transit Police were dispatched around 11:15 a.m. on reports that someone was struck by an eastbound train as it pulled into the Western Ave. station. The person who was hit was transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries.
In a social media post, Metro Transit said Green Line service was being temporarily suspended between the Capitol/Rice St. Station and Snelling Avenue Station.
"Trains are not able to single track around the area involved and service has been suspended between Capitol/Rice St Station and Snelling Ave Station until the scene has been cleared," Metro Transit said in a news release. Passengers should expect delays while routes get back up to speed.
