Tribute to Minnesota officers killed in the line of duty

Medal of honor

ST. PAUL, Minn. - A touching tribute tonight to Minnesota police officers who have been killed in the line of duty.

Minnesota Concerns of Police Survivors held a "blue light service" at the State Capitol for the officers we've lost. Among the speakers, were the brothers of Cold Spring Police Officer Tom Decker, who was shot and killed while responding to call in November 2012.

Project Blue Light encourages people to display blue lights during the holidays to honor fallen law enforcement officers and current officers who put their lives on the line everyday. The blue light honors the loved ones who died in the line of duty and all other peacekeepers that made the supreme sacrifice in performance of their duties. The color blue is symbolic of peace and associated with law enforcement.
